What We've Been Doing in April...

Jake with Dallas Lloyd and Skylar Schone on the Schones water slide. We all had a fun night hanging out with these families in St. George during spring break.
Ben celebrated his 14th birthday on Easter sunday suffering from strep throat.
Josh finished an exciting season of basketball. He played on two teams and continued through the spring. This is him after their final game in April. He is currently on a baseball team with all his buddies from the basketball team.
Ben was edged out by this cute Indian girl (to his right) in the State geography finals. She came about up to his shoulder and was amazing. She was the only one in the room who answered all questions correctly. He didn't win, but was cuter then all of them so that counts for something!
Tara with her friend Lexi Belliston at the spring piano recital. She played "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and "Sleeping Beauty." My camera died half way through the video. Her duet below in with her piano teacher, the famous Tena Maughan!

New Blog

This is so fun.
Jordan: is such a technilogically advanced child. (Just Kidding) She knows how to blog and I don't. She is teaching me. Actually I am just retarded when it comes to this kind of stuff, but she shows me everyone's and they are so fun to read. And mostly I love the pictures. If I can figure out how to get the pictures off my camera and onto here I will be so stinking proud of myself! Jordan helps me a ton. She is usually the order behind my chaos. She will be living at home in the Spring and Summer. She just got an intership at Orovo. She will be writting promotional stuff and editing. She will be attending BYU in the Spring.
Jake: Jake just led our little Lindon ward team to victory as the Utah Regional Young Men's Church Ball Champions. He scored 24 points in the game I was allow to watch. I was banned from the last two because I said, "Go JR" which was short for Jacob Rex. In the final game we were either behind or tied until the last second, at which time Jake after making two freethrows, made a lay up to win the game. Ben was another vital member of the six man team, even though he is still technically a deacon until April 12th. It was probably the only time these two boys will play together in a competitive sport. It was fun as a mom to watch.
Ben: Ben's claim to fame is that he is going the the Utah State Geography Bee held at Thanksgiving point April 2nd. He was late coming home one day and I asked him where he was and he said that his teacher gave them extra credit if they participated in the Oak Canyon Jr. High geography bee. He then told me he won the competition and I, like any good mother said, "Yeah right!" In which he responded, "no really I did". The next day they announced it on the loud speaker at school twice. For some strange reason this was humiliation for Ben because up to this point he has kept it on the down low that he could play sports and was actually kind of smart. Even though his friends gave him a hard time, Jake was extremely proud and told him so. Apparently even if you win from your school you still have to take a lengthy written test to qualify for the final state competition. We got the news mailed to us last week that he made the final cut. I was so proud of him, I hurried down to the Utah-Idaho map supply and bought him a very large wall map for his room, which went right next to the fathead of LeBron James.
Josh: Josh is finishing spring basketball, and starting baseball. He also became and official boy scout when he turned 11. He was very nervous for his first Klondike winter overnighter. His leader had told him to practice peeing in a water bottle because it would be too cold to go in the middle of the night. My thoughts on this were, "okay fine but you are not practicing in your bed!" Anyway he was fine with that until Ben mentioned the fact that "peeing" wasn't usually the problem, it was the other. This was cause for another five minutes of panic! When he arrived home he told me he loved it!! He slept in his own snow cave that he had dug himself. He has earned 4 merit badges in two months. What a good little boy scout!
Tara: Is still enjoying dance. She has a competition next weekend and had one last month. Her team won a blue ribbon. She learned how to do a back handspring on the tramp by herself and loves to do that, now that the weather is warming up. She is such a fun little helper for me around the house. She actually knows how to keep her room clean! So now I'm puzzled. All along I was thinking Danny and Josh were just too little to clean up their room. I'm wondering if the picking up your stuff is a gender thing since only the females in our home usually do that.
Danny: Is just about able to recite every SpongeBob Squarepants ever aired on TV! He is starting soccer this week and getting excited. He lost another tooth and told me I could just include the toothfairy money in his allowance. (Seriously who told!!!) He wants a new bike for his birthday. He really wanted to run the Rex Lee run but I was worried he would get tired and then get mad and leave the designated path. I told him eight was the magic age to start running the race. He loves to run! He is looking forward to summer vacation. Every monday when it's time to get up for school, guess what? It's the new worst day of his life!
Hope this is not too boring. I love you all and wish I saw more of you! Love, Kimberly
